What is a neodymium rare earth magnet?
These are not ordinary refrigerator magnets as you imagined. Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets currently available. Even if you have never heard of them before, you may use them every day. They are sometimes called NdFeB or N52 Rare Earth Magnets. High strength and light weight, which is why they are popular in a variety of applications. It's hard to believe, but without this rare earth magnet, the many huge technological advances that have occurred in the past few decades are impossible.

How strong is the neodymium magnet?
It's so strong that you can't expect it. A 2 g (0.07 oz) neodymium magnet with a diameter of 8 mm (0.315 inches) and a length of 5 mm (0.197 inches) produces more than 1700 g (3.75 pounds) of force. They are so strong that they have replaced other types of magnets in many applications. For example, they are more than ten times stronger than ceramic magnets, so you can replace ceramic magnets with smaller neodymium magnets and produce the same (or greater!) holding force. Their strength is so high that even small neodymium magnets can cause personal injury.

What are neodymium magnets made of?
